Puddling along the edges of surfaces is a sure sign of hand cut sleepers, this is due to how thin the cut needs to be at the end. The accuracy needed to cut the thin end correctly cannot be achieved by hand cutting.
This decks puddling issue caused water to pool along the wall which led to pre mature leaking of the surface. You can also see the unsightly dirt marks that the sitting water creates as well.
The puddling on this deck fell on a seam which lead to premature failure of the membrane, and water damage to the interior of the home.

This is a project that we pitched years ago, notice there are no major dirt spots due to puddling. This deck has not been washed since it was installed, but because the entire surface promotes water flow it stays much cleaner overall.
Clean surfaces make using the decks much more coinvent for customers because they don't have to worry about avoiding certain areas due to standing water or dirt that would track back into the home. Cleaner surfaces also inherently last longer giving more time between necessary maintenance.
